How to Apply/Register

We used to put the application information ONLY here on the website, for several reasons. But that’s proved difficult for just as many reasons, so we’ve stopped.

If you would like to get an application, visit the Twisted Designers’ headquarters at +DV8+. Join the Twisted Designers’ Mailing List (Subscribo) and go into the history to grab the invitation. It has the application inside, as well as a lot of other useful info. (And since this is where we announce opportunities for merchants to participate in Twisted events, it’s just a good idea to be on here in general.)

We will, however, be leaving up the help with how to fill out the application.

Help With the Application

Time to register is short – and if your application is improperly filled out, you might end up not getting in because it wasn’t sorted out before the deadline. It’s best to just make sure you do it right the first time – and in that vein, here’s exactly what we’re looking for in the apps:

Your Store Name, exactly as you want it to appear on the website:
> This is what people are going to see – on the website, and anywhere else we write it. If your store name has asterisks, plus signs, or anything like that – make sure they are in there. If your official store name DOESN’T have those things – leave them out.

A short, useful description of your store:
> If you sell shoes and clothes for vampires, or hair for freaks, or bondage furniture, then just say that. This is no place to get flowery or poetic. Just a few words to let us know your basic business. It’s not getting printed anywhere, this is just for our use.

A single landmark to your hunt location:
> Drag an SL landmark into the notecard. Don’t just paste a SLurl here. If you don’t know how to put a LM in a notecard, ask a friend. Really, we need this.

The SLurl that matches the LM to your hunt location:
> Cut and paste your SLurl in here. It should match the landing point of the LM you gave us. If you don’t know how to do this, you can look it up in the support area of the SecondLife.com website.

Contact Person(s)/Owner(s), in order:
> These are store owners, managers, etc. Basically, everyone you put on this list is going to get a merchant invite – and will be thought of as able to speak for your store. They will all receive hunt materials, and if we have a question we need answered, we’ll hunt through the list in order for whose online. So – please list the most likely contact first, and so on.

Gift you plan to give out for free (rough idea is fine, we realize you may not have it made yet):
> Don’t stress over the answer to this if you don’t know it yet – and don’t worry if you change your mind later. We’re just looking for a base idea – like “new boots,” or, “male and female outfits”. But hey — if your store isn’t particularly twisted, or the stuff you make doesn’t look like it belongs in this kind of hunt – be warned. We’re pretty picky about who we let in. If you normally make frilly pink dresses, but want to try your hand at a spookycute black dress for the hunt? Better say so here – because if you say ‘dress’ and we show up and see all your dresses are frilly and pink, you won’t get in.

Will your hunt item be a new item? And if it is, will the item be exclusively given away on the hunt, or available only through the hunt until it is over?
> This we ARE interested in – because if your item will new, and especially if it will be exclusive (for all time, or even just through the duration of the hunt) – then we want to tell people that when the opportunity comes up. Hunters love exclusive stuff, new stuff – stuff they couldn’t possibly already own. And we like to tell them when one of the merchants has promised exactly that.
